I have done a few pet memorials since getting my laser engraver. This is the most recent one I created.
The design was primarily build using the WordArt website which allowed me to add the desired words into the pattern of the paw print. Once everything was put into the website, I simply completed the purchased and downloaded the SVG file.
Once I had a working SVG file, I imported that into Lightburn, adjusted the size to fit my material, and set my cut parameters.
Cut Parameters:
- Speed = 400
- Power = 30
- Mode = Fill
- Lines Per Inch = 300
- Total Runtime = ~39 Minutes
This engraving was done on a Mastercraft© 5/4″ x 15″ Edge Glued Round Panel (pine) from Menards. Once the engraving was completed, it was cleaned, lightly sanded, and then stained with a custom stain from Sherwin-Williams. Once the stain was dry, I applied two coats of Deft sanding sealer followed by two coats of Deft satin Lacquer. Overall, I think it came out looking great.
